ITALY & SPAIN TRIUMPHANT AT THE MXOEN AND WMXOEN IN ROMANIA
BUCAREST (Romania) 22 settembre 2024 – In condizioni quasi perfette presso il TCS Racing Park vicino a Bucarest in Romania, il Motocross delle Nazioni Europee e il Motocross femminile delle Nazioni Europee hanno vissuto una grande giornata di azione in tutte le classi!
Grazie a un brillante lavoro di squadra, oltre alla brillantezza individuale del loro pilota 85cc Andrea Uccellini, il Team Italia si è aggiudicato il trofeo del Motocross delle Nazioni Europee per la quinta volta, un record, con un margine di vittoria di soli tre punti sui campioni in carica, il Team Francia!
Nel Motocross delle Nazioni femminile, i campioni in carica del Team Spagna hanno difeso la loro corona grazie alla velocità assoluta di Daniela Guillen , che ha operato sul suo hard-pack preferito e ha superato la pilota del Team Germania Larissa Papenmeier in ogni occasione. È stata supportata dalle solide prestazioni di Jana Sanchez, mentre la Germania si è piazzata al secondo posto in un tie-break con il Team Francia!
La gara si è svolta dopo una cerimonia di apertura che ha visto discorsi di diversi dignitari, vale a dire Andrea Barbieri, Presidente della Commissione MX della FIM Europe, Patricia Maskarova , Direttore Generale di MxoEN Infront , così come il rappresentante del TCS Racing Park Ciprian Popescu e Nikoleta Olariu della Federazione motociclistica rumena. Patricia ha consegnato al signor Olariu una targa commemorativa come premio per la buona organizzazione dell’evento, dove i commenti di ogni pilota sul circuito e l’organizzazione erano pieni di entusiasmo.
Come per la gara di qualificazione di sabato, la battaglia si è ridotta a uno scontro tra l’italiano Francesco Bellei e il detentore della targa francese #1 Alexis Fueri . La punta di diamante francese ha preso l’Holeshot ma con una mossa determinata, Bellei è stato in grado di prendere il comando al secondo giro e non si è più voltato indietro, tranne forse per controllare come stava andando il suo compagno di squadra Nicolò Alvisi ! La risposta è stata molto positiva, sostenendo Bellei con un ottimo terzo posto per dare immediatamente all’Italia un vantaggio iniziale. Il team Slovenia era nella mischia con il loro pilota Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations MX2 Jaka Peklaj che si è classificato quarto e il loro pilota 125cc Lukas Osek che si è classificato settimo.
Le speranze del Team Spagna sono state presto indebolite dalla brutta caduta del pilota della 250 Elias Escandell, anche se Salvador Perez si è piazzato sesto per loro sulla sua 125. Tom Brunet ha mantenuto la Francia in corsa con la quinta posizione.
Fueri ha sparato un altro holeshot nella seconda gara, mentre Bellei è scivolato via, facendogli perdere la possibilità di sfidare. Fueri ha mantenuto il comando fino alla bandiera a scacchi, mentre Bellei si è ripreso per prendere il secondo posto, e il pilota francese della 125 Brunet si è aggiudicato il quinto posto, rendendo la gara solida per i campioni in carica. Anche Alvisi è caduto, ma è comunque arrivato sesto per l’Italia, davanti al malconcio Escandell, mentre Perez ha compensato la difficile gara del suo connazionale aggiudicandosi il quarto posto, il miglior pilota della 125cc.
Perez è stato il miglior uomo della 125 nella giornata davanti ad Alvisi e Brunet, ma Fueri ha rivendicato la vittoria individuale della 250cc su Bellei e Peklaj, il cui compagno di squadra era solo 16 ° nella seconda gara. Nel complesso, gli italiani hanno vinto con un vantaggio di un punto sulla squadra francese in queste gare.

Nella classe 85cc per i piloti dagli 11 ai 14 anni, il primo holeshot della gara è andato allo spagnolo Jorge Salvador , ma l’italiano la sensazione Uccellini è rimasta subito dietro di lui per tutta la gara, prima di balzare all’ultimo giro per prendere il comando e la vittoria della gara con meno di un secondo di scarto! Incredibilmente, i tre team in testa hanno tutti preso sette punti dalla gara, con David Cracco sesto per l’Italia, Pau Caudet quinto per la Spagna e la coppia francese Kenzo Ferez e Leo Diss Fenard al terzo e quarto posto!
Fenard ha conquistato l’holeshot nella seconda gara davanti a Salvador, ma Uccellini è stato inarrestabile e si è aggiudicato la vittoria, mentre Cracco è risalito al quinto posto facendo la differenza, mentre Caudet ha dato manforte a Salvador portando gli spagnoli al terzo e quarto posto, ma Ferez è riuscito ad arrivare solo al sesto posto, mentre Diss La seconda posizione di Fenard ha portato alla Francia un punteggio inferiore di due punti rispetto all’Italia in gara!
Mentre gli italiani festeggiavano la loro prima vittoria dal 2019, la Francia ha appena tenuto dietro la Spagna, piazzandosi al secondo posto nella classifica generale, mentre la Polonia si è piazzata al quarto posto, davanti alla squadra di casa, la Romania 1.

La veterana del WMX Larissa Papenmeier ha ottenuto uno straordinario holeshot in entrambe le gare, ma non è riuscita a contrastare la forza inarrestabile della due volte vice-campionessa del WMX Daniela Guillen, che ha vinto la gara con oltre dieci secondi di vantaggio in entrambe.
Nonostante la compagna di squadra di Guillen, Jana Sanchez, abbia subito un incidente in gara uno, i campioni in carica sono riusciti a mantenere il titolo perché Sanchez è riuscita a tenere dietro di sé la tedesca Alessandra Massury e il duo francese di April Franzoni e Jesse Joineau non è mai riuscito a rompere il dominio di Guillen e Papenmeier in testa. I tedeschi si sono aggiudicati il secondo posto, come avevano fatto l’ultima volta nel 2019, e la terza posizione della Francia è stata il loro primo podio WMXoN da dieci anni, dai tempi della pluricampionessa Livia Lancelot che guidava il loro sforzo!

ITALY & SPAIN TRIUMPHANT AT THE MXOEN AND WMXOEN IN ROMANIA
BUCHAREST (Romania) 22 September 2024 – In near-perfect conditions at the TCS Racing Park near Bucharest in Romania, the Motocross of European Nations and the Women’s Motocross of European Nations saw a great day of action in all classes!
With a brilliant team effort, on top of individual brilliance for their 85cc rider Andrea Uccellini, Team Italy took the Motocross of European Nations trophy for a record fifth time, with just a three-point winning margin ahead of the reigning champions, Team France!
In the Women’s Motocross of Nations, reigning Champions Team Spain defended their crown thanks to the sheer speed of Daniela Guillen, operating on her favourite hard-pack and working past Team Germany flyer Larissa Papenmeier on each occasion. She was backed up by solid performances from Jana Sanchez, as Germany took second place on a tie-break with Team France!
The racing took place after an opening ceremony which saw speeches from several dignitaries, namely Andrea Barbieri, the FIM Europe MX Commission Chairman, Patricia Maskarova the MxoEN Infront General Manager, as well as TCS Racing Park representative Ciprian Popescu and Nikoleta Olariu from the Romanian Motorcycling Federation. Patricia handed Mr Olariu a commemorative plate as a reward for good organisation of the event, where every rider’s comments towards the circuit and organisation was full of enthusiasm.
As with Saturday’s Qualification Race, the battle came down to a clash between Italian Francesco Bellei and French #1 plate holder Alexis Fueri. The French spearhead took the Holeshot but with a determined move, Bellei was able to take the lead on lap two and never looked back, except maybe to check on how his teammate Nicolo Alvisi was doing! The answer was very well, backing up Bellei with a great third place to instantly give Italy an early advantage. Team Slovenia were in the mix with their Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations MX2 rider Jaka Peklaj taking fourth and their 125cc rider Lukas Osek claiming seventh.
Team Spain took an early dent to their hopes with a big crash for 250 rider Elias Escandell, although Salvador Perez claimed sixth for them on his 125. Tom Brunet kept France in the hunt with fifth position.
Fueri fired to another holeshot in race two, as Bellei slipped off to cost him a chance of challenging. Fueri held the lead to the chequered flag as Bellei recovered to take second, and French 125 pilot Brunet claimed fifth to make it a solid race for the defending Champions. Alvisi also crashed but still finished sixth for Italy ahead of the battered Escandell, while Perez made up for his countryman’s difficult race by claiming fourth, the top 125cc rider.
Perez was the top 125 man on the day ahead of Alvisi and Brunet, but Fueri claimed the 250cc individual win over Bellei and Peklaj, whose teammate was only 16th in race two. Overall, the Italians won for a one-point advantage over the French team from these races.

In the 85cc class for 11- to 14-year-old riders, the first race holeshot went to Spain’s Jorge Salvador, but Italian sensation Uccellini stayed just behind him all race, before pouncing on the final lap to take the lead and the race victory by less than a second! Amazingly, the three leading teams all took seven points from the race, as David Cracco took sixth for Italy, Pau Caudet took fifth for Spain, and French pairing Kenzo Ferez and Leo Diss Fenard packed together in third and fourth!
Fenard claimed the holeshot in race two ahead of Salvador, but Uccellini was unstoppable and waltzed to the race win, as Cracco improved to fifth place to make the difference as Caudet backed up Salvador to put the Spaniards in third and fourth, but Ferez could only get sixth while Diss Fenard’s second position brought France a score two points worse in the race than Italy!
As the Italians celebrated their first win since 2019, France just held back Spain for second overall, with Poland claiming fourth overall ahead of home team Romania 1.

WMX veteran Larissa Papenmeier took a stunning holeshot in both races but was unable to hold back the unstoppable force that is twice WMX Vice-Champion Daniela Guillen, who powered to the race win by over ten seconds in both races.
Despite Guillen’s teammate Jana Sanchez suffering a crash in race one, the reigning Champions were able to keep their title due to Sanchez being able to keep Alessandra Massury of Germany behind her, and the French duo of April Franzoni and Jesse Joineau never being able to break the dominance of Guillen and Papenmeier at the front. The Germans claimed second, as they last did in 2019, and France’s third position was their first WMXoN podium for ten years, since the days of multiple champ Livia Lancelot leading their effort!
