ROMAIN FEBVRE E KAWASAKI INSIEME PER ALTRI DUE ANNI

Romain Febvre e il Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP, che hanno già avuto una partnership di grande successo nel campionato mondiale FIM MXGP dal 2020, continueranno a collaborare per altri due anni.

Da quando è entrato in Kawasaki cinque anni fa, Romain è stato il pilota di maggior successo nella lunga storia del Kawasaki Racing Team nella classe MXGP, guadagnando medaglie d’argento nella serie sia nel 2021 che nel 2023. La scorsa stagione è stata una di grandi successi poiché il francese, che compirà trentatré anni a dicembre, ha vinto sei GP ed è salito sul podio in tredici round della serie! Ha iniziato il 2024 con lo stesso dinamismo, collezionando sei podi nei primi sette round fino a quando un infortunio al pollice durante il GP di Francia lo ha costretto a saltare diversi round e ad arrendersi alla battaglia per il titolo mondiale. Già tornato sul podio lo scorso fine settimana a Lommel in Belgio, alla sua seconda gara dal suo ritorno, Romain ha dimostrato ancora una volta quanto sia competitivo sulla KX450-SR che ha sviluppato insieme al team KRT e agli ingegneri Kawasaki. Grazie a questa proficua collaborazione, parteciperà ai Campionati del mondo MXGP 2025 e 2026 con grandi obiettivi e il suo leggendario spirito combattivo.

Romain Febvre: “Sono felice di continuare per altri due anni con Kawasaki; ci conosciamo molto bene e sono sicuro che combatteremo di nuovo per il titolo, come abbiamo fatto quest’anno fino all’infortunio che mi ha costretto a saltare diversi round. Gli infortuni a volte possono influire sulla tua motivazione, ma ho dimostrato sia nel 2022 che quest’anno che posso lottare per vittorie e podi quando tornerò. Di sicuro non avrei continuato la mia carriera se non fossi stato in testa al gruppo, ma la mia motivazione è ancora lì, dato che ho iniziato a correre nel motocross più tardi della maggior parte dei miei rivali. Abbiamo firmato un nuovo accordo biennale; per me era importante perché voglio concentrarmi completamente sulle gare la prossima stagione. Tutti sanno quanto mi trovo a mio agio sulla KX450-SR e come condivido gli stessi obiettivi del team, quindi andiamo avanti per altre due campagne”.

È stato il miglior inizio di tutta la sua carriera e non c’è dubbio che abbia la stessa fame di sempre.”

Steve Guttridge (Responsabile pianificazione gare, Kawasaki Motors Europe): “Romain ha ormai una lunga storia con Kawasaki; è davvero parte della famiglia. Il fatto che rimanga con noi dimostra l’impegno di entrambe le parti nel continuare la missione per vincere il campionato del mondo. Mi ha sempre detto che ama la moto; si lega alla Kawasaki e per lui la moto è la cosa più importante. Questo è il denominatore comune per raggiungere il nostro obiettivo comune di vincere il campionato del mondo MXGP.”

Romain Febvre and the Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP, who have already enjoyed a highly-successful partnership in the FIM MXGP World Championship since 2020, will continue together for two more years.

Since he joined Kawasaki five years ago Romain has been the most successful rider in the long history of the Kawasaki Racing Team in the MXGP class, earning series silver medals in both 2021 and 2023. Last season was one of major success as the Frenchman, who will turn thirty-three years of age in December, won six GPs and mounted the podium at thirteen rounds of the series! He started 2024 with the same dynamism, collecting six podiums from the first seven rounds until a thumb injury during the French GP forced him to miss several rounds and to surrender the battle for the world title. Already back on the podium last weekend at Lommel in Belgium in just his second race since his comeback, Romain has once again showed how competitive he remains on the KX450-SR that he has developed together with the KRT team and the Kawasaki engineers. Thanks to this successful co-operation he will enter the 2025 and 2026 MXGP World Championships with high goals and his legendary fighting spirit.

Romain Febvre: “I’m delighted to continue for two more years with Kawasaki; we know each other really well and I’m confident that we will again fight for the title, as we did this year until the injury which forced me to miss several rounds. Injuries can sometimes impact your motivation, but I showed in both 2022 and this year that I can fight for wins and podiums when I come back. For sure I might not have continued my career if I was not racing at the front of the pack, but my motivation is still there as I started racing motocross later than most of my rivals. We have signed a new two-year agreement; for me that was important as I want to be fully-focused on racing next season. Everyone knows how comfortable I am on the KX450-SR, and how I share the same goals with the team, so let’s go for two more campaigns.”
