Motocross delle Nazioni 2024. In Inghilterra l’Italia vuole confermarsi ai vertici

Sale l’attesa per il Motocross delle Nazioni 2024, il grande evento di fine stagione che si disputerà a Matterley Basin, in Inghilterra, sabato 5 e domenica 6 ottobre.

Con un’età media della squadra molto bassa (22 anni), l’Italia vorrà ribadire l’alto livello del vivaio crossistico azzurro e le grandi qualità, sia a livello individuale che corale, dei piloti in Maglia Azzurra.

Il Commissario Tecnico FMI, Thomas Traversini, ha deciso di puntare per la MXGP su Mattia Guadagnini, che ha recuperato del tutto dalla frattura alla scapola sinistra. Per la MXOpen ci sarà Andrea Bonacorsi, Campione Europeo MX250 nel 2023 e debuttante quest’anno nel Mondiale MXGP con buoni riscontri. Terza convocazione di fila per Andrea Adamo, Campione in carica nel Mondiale MX2 ed uno dei migliori crossisti del panorama mondiale. Alberto Forato è stato selezionato come riserva: dopo un infortunio che lo ha costretto ad uno stop di quasi quattro mesi, è tornato in pista il 22 e 23 giugno a Ponte a Egola in occasione del campionato italiano e la sua forma fisica è in costante miglioramento.

La formazione definitiva verrà comunicata prossimamente.

Giovanni Copioli, Presidente FMI: “Andremo in Inghilterra con l’obiettivo di ripetere l’ottima prestazione dello scorso anno. Abbiamo una squadra composta da ragazzi giovani ma allo stesso tempo esperti, che hanno dimostrato nel corso della loro carriera di poter competere ad alti livelli e raggiungere ottimi risultati. Sappiamo che in queste competizioni il lavoro di squadra è fondamentale, sono sicuro che i nostri piloti metteranno in campo tutto loro stessi per poter raggiungere il miglior risultato possibile. Faccio un grande in bocca al lupo a loro e al Commissario Tecnico Traversini”.

Thomas Traversini, Commissario Tecnico FMI: “Manca sempre meno al Motocross delle Nazioni 2024 e i nostri ragazzi non vedono l’ora di scendere in pista per dimostrare il loro valore. Anche per quest’anno abbiamo deciso di convocare una squadra dall’età media bassa perché crediamo nella forza del vivaio azzurro e perché possiamo contare su ragazzi dalle caratteristiche umane e qualitative invidiabili, che hanno dimostrato in questi anni di poter raggiungere ottimi risultati. Come ad ogni edizione ci saranno formazioni ambiziose che punteranno in alto, ma noi non saremo da meno”.

Italy select 2024 MXoN squad

Anticipation is growing for the Motocross of Nations 2024, the great end-of-season event that will be held in Matterley Basin, England, on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 October.

With a very low average age of the team (22 years), Italy will want to reiterate the high level of the Italian motocross youth sector and the great qualities, both individually and collectively, of the riders in the Maglia Azzurra.

The FMI Technical Commissioner, Thomas Traversini, has decided to focus on Mattia Guadagnini for MXGP, who has fully recovered from a fractured left shoulder blade. For MXOpen there will be Andrea Bonacorsi, 2023 MX250 European Champion and debutant this year in the MXGP World Championship with good results. Third call-up in a row for Andrea Adamo, reigning MX2 World Champion and one of the best motocross riders on the world scene. Alberto Forato has been selected as a reserve: after an injury that forced him to stop for almost four months, he returned to the track on 22 and 23 June in Ponte a Egola for the Italian championship and his physical shape is constantly improving.

As with every edition, there will be ambitious teams that will aim high, but we will not be outdone”.
