Colt Nichols collaborerà con Ken Roczen alla PMG

Il campione AMA Supercross 250cc East del 2021, Colt Nichols, collaborerà con il due volte campione del mondo FIM Supercross, Ken Roczen, alla PMG nel 2024

Nichols è entrato a far parte della WSX nel 2023 con Rick Ware Racing e ha vissuto una promettente prima stagione che ha visto l’Oklahoman assicurarsi una vittoria da protagonista nell’ultima gara del Gran Premio d’Australia WSX a Melbourne.

Unendosi alla PMG, Nichols rappresenterà uno dei team di maggior successo nella WSX che ha ottenuto cinque vittorie in gara, sette podi e due vittorie complessive nel Gran Premio la scorsa stagione, aggiudicandosi anche il titolo WSX 450cc con Roczen.

Colt Nichols, pilota, PMG, ha affermato: “Sono entusiasta di gareggiare nella WSX nel 2024 e non vedo l’ora di iniziare con i ragazzi e le ragazze della PMG Suzuki. Ho concluso la stagione 2023 in bellezza con la vittoria a Melbourne e se riusciremo a trovare un buon ritmo dalla prima gara a Vancouver, mi piacerebbe pensare che potremmo vivere una stagione davvero memorabile quest’anno. Gareggiare al BC Place sarà un modo fantastico per iniziare la stagione e non vedo l’ora di tornare in Australia e ad Abu Dhabi più avanti nel corso dell’anno. Spero che potremo salire sul podio”.

Insieme, Nichols e Roczen formeranno una forte forza d’attacco per tutta la prossima stagione mentre il duo si prepara ad affrontare la campagna 2024 che prevede quattro round con gare a Vancouver, Perth (doppia gara) e Abu Dhabi.

Nel 2024, Roczen cercherà di aggiungere altre vittorie al suo successo attuale nella WSX, con il tedesco che si mette all’inseguimento di un terzo titolo di campione del mondo in altrettante stagioni.

Ken Roczen, due volte campione del mondo WSX, pilota, PMG, ha detto: “Non è un segreto che tornerò per la WSX nel 2024 e sono sicuro che questa stagione sarà la più competitiva di sempre. Abbiamo nuove piste e piloti di ritorno come Eli [Tomac], quindi la battaglia in pista sarà dura e i fan saranno in attesa di gare incredibili per tutta la stagione. Dopo l’infortunio di inizio anno, ho lavorato duramente per tornare e anche se sono contrario a stabilire grandi aspettative, l’obiettivo finale è sempre vincere il campionato del mondo: voglio fare tre su tre questa stagione. Non vedo l’ora che inizi la stagione e di lavorare con Colt e non vedo l’ora di iniziare”. La stagione 2024 inizierà il 26 ottobre con il Gran Premio canadese WSX al BC Place di Vancouver, prima di dirigersi all’HBF Park di Perth per il Gran Premio australiano WSX, il primo evento a due gare della serie con due round, il 23 e 24 novembre. La stagione si concluderà all’Etihad Arena di Abu Dhabi il 4 dicembre, dove saranno incoronati due campioni del mondo.

Colt Nichols will race for Pipes Motorsports Group (PMG) in the 2024 FIM World Supercross Championship (WSX) season, partnering two-time World Champion, Ken Roczen.

Nichols joined the WSX field in 2023 with Rick Ware Racing and enjoyed a promising first campaign which saw the Oklahoman secure a headline victory in the final race of the WSX Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.

By joining PMG, Nichols will represent one of the most successful teams in WSX which secured five race wins, seven podiums, and two overall Grand Prix victories last season, while also claiming the 450cc WSX title with Roczen.

Colt Nichols, Rider, PMG, said: “I’m pumped to be racing in WSX in 2024, and I can’t wait to get started with the guys and girls at PMG Suzuki. I ended the 2023 season on a high with the win in Melbourne, and if we can find a good rhythm from the first race in Vancouver, I’d like to think that we could be in for a very memorable season this year. Racing at BC Place will be an awesome way to start the season, and I’m looking forward to going back to Australia and Abu Dhabi later in the year. Hopefully we can be in for a few podium finishes.”

Together, Nichols and Roczen will form a strong striking force across the coming season as the duo prepare to take on the 2024 campaign which features four rounds with races in Vancouver, Perth (double-header), and Abu Dhabi.

In 2024, Roczen will look to add further victories to his existing success in WSX, with the German setting out in pursuit of a third World Championship title in as many seasons.

Ken Roczen, Two-Time WSX World Champion, Rider, PMG, said: “It’s no secret that I’ll be back for WSX in 2024, and I’m confident that this season will be the most competitive yet. We have new tracks and returning riders like Eli [Tomac], so the battle on track will be gnarly and the fans will be in for some amazing racing all season. Since the injury earlier in the year, I’ve been working hard to come back and even though I’m against setting high expectations, the ultimate goal is to always win the World Championship – I want to go three for three this season. I’m looking forward to the season ahead and to working with Colt and can’t wait to get it started.”
The 2024 season will get underway on 26 October with the WSX Canadian Grand Prix at BC Place in Vancouver, before heading to HBF Park in Perth for the WSX Australian Grand Prix – the series’ first-ever double-header event featuring two rounds – on 23 & 24 November. The season will close at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi on 4 December where two World Champions will be crowned.
