SEXTON E PLESSINGER PER IL TEAM USA, ARRIVA L’ANNUNCIO PER LA 250
La formazione del Team USA per il Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations del 2024 è a due terzi della definizione. Il neo-incoronato campione AMA 450 Pro Motocross Chase Sexton e il suo compagno di squadra Red Bull KTM Aaron Plessinger sono entrambi confermati per i due posti 450 del team. Sexton sarà il capitano e gareggerà nella divisione MXGP mentre Plessinger sarà il pilota Open. L’evento si svolgerà dal 5 al 6 ottobre a Matterley Basin in Gran Bretagna. La grande domanda è se il campione AMA 250 Pro Motocross Haiden Deegan parteciperà o meno. Secondo quanto riferito, oggi si recherà da un medico per farsi controllare il polso, poiché deve determinare se ha bisogno di un periodo di pausa dopo la stagione per un piccolo intervento chirurgico. L’AMA gli ha apparentemente dato una scadenza alle 17:00. questo pomeriggio per prendere una decisione definitiva.
Il prossimo in lizza per il ruolo MX2 (classe 250) sarebbe Levi Kitchen della Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki (terzo nel campionato della classe 250 dopo Deegan e il francese Tom Vialle), se il suo team si impegnasse nell’evento, così come Chance Hymas della Honda HRC (quarto nel campionato). Hymas si è presentato all’AMA ogni fine settimana dicendo loro quanto gli piacerebbe correre. Inoltre, RJ Hampshire della Rockstar Energy Husqvarna, che ha corso per il Team USA l’anno scorso, potrebbe essere un candidato in base al suo ottimo podio al ritorno dall’infortunio all’Ironman National. SEXTON AND PLESSINGER IN FOR TEAM USA, 250 ANNOUNCEMENT TO COME
Team USA’s lineup for the 2024 Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations is two-thirds of the way to being settled. Newly-crowned AMA 450 Pro Motocross Champion Chase Sexton and his Red Bull KTM teammate Aaron Plessinger are both confirmed for the team’s two 450 spots. Sexton will be the captain and race in the MXGP division while Plessinger will be the Open rider. The event will take place October 5-6 at Matterley Basin in Great Britain. The big question is over whether or not AMA 250 Pro Motocross Champion Haiden Deegan will participate. He is reportedly seeing a doctor today get his wrist checked, as he needs to determine if he needs time off after the season for minor surgery. The AMA has apparently given him a deadline of 5 p.m. this afternoon to make a final decision.
Next in line for the MX2 role (250 class) would be Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Levi Kitchen (third in the 250 class championship after Deegan and France’s Tom Vialle), if his team commits to the event, as well as Honda HRC’s Chance Hymas (fourth in the championship). Hymas has been pitching himself to the AMA each weekend telling them how badly he’d like to race. Also, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s RJ Hampshire, who raced for Team USA last year, could be a candidate based on his strong podium showing in a return from injury at the Ironman National.
