Sforzo sul podio per Gajser all’MXGP di Svezia

Tim Gajser del Team HRC è tornato sul podio all’MXGP di Svezia, tenutosi sulla rocciosa pista di Uddevalla di fronte a una folla molto calorosa. Dopo una giornata di pioggia torrenziale venerdì, le condizioni erano quasi perfette per le due manche di oggi, dove Gajser è riuscito a fare due-tre per il secondo posto assoluto.
In gara uno, il pilota della Honda CRF450R è partito bene tra i primi cinque, prima di farsi strada gradualmente. Sfortunatamente, a causa della natura del circuito, i sorpassi erano un premio e ci è voluto fino al 13° giro prima che finalmente prendesse il comando e dopo tutto quello sforzo, un piccolo errore di giudizio gli ha fatto scivolare la testa dalle mani. Si è riorganizzato rapidamente e ha messo pressione al leader per il resto della manche, tagliando infine il traguardo a meno di un secondo dal vincitore.
Gara due e lo sloveno non ha avuto la migliore prima curva, ma alcuni sorpassi al primo giro lo hanno portato al terzo posto. Da lì, il trio ha lasciato il campo aprendo un enorme divario con i piloti dietro. Spingendo forte, Gajser ha cercato di mantenere il contatto con i primi due, ma una combinazione di doppiaggi e condizioni difficili ha fatto sì che perdesse il contatto e non potesse lottare per la vittoria. Tuttavia, un terzo posto ha significato che è tornato sul podio e guida ancora il campionato con 17 punti di vantaggio mentre si dirigono verso gli ultimi cinque round della stagione.
Il prossimo è Arnhem, nei Paesi Bassi, che è un ritorno su terreni sabbiosi, dove il #243 spera di impegnarsi molto e mantenere la presa sul campionato mondiale MXGP 2024.

Ferruccio Zanchi ha avuto un’eccellente seconda manche a Uddevalla, in Svezia, finendo settimo e guidando un ritmo veloce e costante per tutta la durata della manche. Sfortunatamente un problema alla moto in gara uno, quando lottava per l’ottavo posto, gli ha impedito di ottenere una buona posizione in classifica generale, ma dopo un sesto posto nella gara di qualificazione di ieri, il giovane italiano può essere molto soddisfatto di come ha guidato in quella che è una sfida difficile.
Nella seconda di questa tripla gara, la serie si dirige ad Arnhem, nei Paesi Bassi, per quella che sarà un’altra pista di sabbia, dove Zanchi cercherà di ripetere la sua eccellente guida di Lommel di qualche settimana fa.

È stato comunque un buon fine settimana per il campionato, con due-tre vittorie dopo aver vinto la gara di qualificazione di ieri. Mi sarebbe piaciuto vincere quella prima manche, ma ero vicino quando abbiamo tagliato il traguardo, quindi ero comunque soddisfatto della mia guida. Sfortunatamente, non sono riuscito a trovare lo stesso ritmo nella seconda manche, ma è andata comunque bene e non vedo l’ora di affrontare i prossimi round.

È stato bello ottenere quel risultato nella seconda manche e, nel complesso, sono soddisfatto del fine settimana. La mia guida è stata buona per tutto il tempo e ho avuto la sensazione di aver mantenuto un buon ritmo nel corso di tutte e tre le gare. La prossima è Arnhem, che è una pista di sabbia e dopo Lommel, sono molto emozionato di tornare a guidare sulla sabbia e mostrare di nuovo cosa sono in grado di fare. Un grande ringraziamento al team per tutto il loro lavoro e voglio davvero concludere la stagione in bellezza.

Dopo la vittoria di ieri, speravamo che Tim potesse scendere in pista e prendere altri buoni punti oggi, e penso che ci sia andato molto vicino. Solo un piccolo errore quando è passato in testa ha fatto sì che perdesse la posizione e, su questa pista, sorpassare è così importante che non è riuscito a recuperarla. Tuttavia, è tornato sul podio e con cinque round rimanenti, è in buona posizione in classifica e continueremo a lottare per ogni punto.
Ferruccio ha anche dimostrato nel fine settimana che il suo livello è aumentato nelle ultime settimane. Era tra i primi 10 in tutte le manche e speriamo che questo tipo di forma continui il prossimo fine settimana, quando ci dirigeremo ad Arnhem, che è una pista in cui ha effettivamente vinto una manche nella sua carriera EMX250.

Podium effort for Gajser at the MXGP of Sweden

Team HRC’s Tim Gajser got himself back on the podium at the MXGP of Sweden, held at the rocky Uddevalla track in front of a hugely vocal crowd. After a day of torrential rain on Friday, conditions were nearly perfect for the two motos today, where Gajser was able to go two-three for second overall.
In race one, the Honda CRF450R rider got a good start inside the top five, before gradually working his way forward. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the circuit, passing was at a premium and it took until the 13th lap before he finally got into the lead and after all that effort, a small error in judgement then saw it slip from his fingers. He regrouped quickly and put pressure on the leader for the rest of the moto, eventually crossing the line less than a second behind the winner.
Race two and the Slovenian didn’t have the best first bend, but a few passes on the first lap got him into third place. From there, the trio checked out from the field opening out a massive gap to the riders behind. Pushing hard, Gajser tried to keep in touch with the front two, but a combination of lappers and tricky conditions meant that he lost contact and couldn’t fight for the win. Still, a third place meant that he was back on the podium and he still leads the championship by 17 points as they head into the final five rounds of the season.
Next up is Arnhem, in the Netherlands, which a return to sandy terrain, where the #243 will be hoping to put in a strong effort and maintain his grip on the 2024 MXGP World Championship.
MX2
Ferruccio Zanchi had an excellent second moto in Uddevalla, Sweden, finishing seventh and riding a fast and consistent pace for the duration of the moto. Unfortunately a bike issue in race one when fighting for eighth robbed him of the opportunity for a strong overall position, but after a sixth in the qualifying race yesterday, the young Italian can be very happy with how he rode on what is a difficult challenge.
In what is the second of this triple-header, the series heads to Arnhem, Netherlands for what will be another sand track, where Zanchi will be trying to repeat his excellent riding from Lommel a few weeks ago.

It was still a good weekend for the championship, going two-three after winning the qualification race yesterday. I would to like to have won that first moto but I was close when we crossed the line so I was still happy with my riding. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find the same rhythm in the second race but it was still okay and I’m looking forward to these next few rounds.

It was good to get that second moto result and overall, I am happy with the weekend. My riding was good throughout and I felt like I kept a good pace over the course of all three races. Next up is Arnhem, which is a sand track and after Lommel, I am very excited to get back to riding the sand and show what I’m able to do once again. A big thanks to the team for all their work and I really want to finish the season on a strong note.

After yesterday’s win, we hoped that Tim would be able to go out there and take more good points today, and I think he was very close to making that happen. Just a small mistake when he got into the lead meant that he lost the position and, on this track, passing is just so critical that he couldn’t regain it. Still, he is back on the podium and with five rounds remaining, is in good position in the standings and we’ll keep fighting for every point.
Ferruccio also showed over the weekend that his level has gone up in recent weeks. He was inside the top 10 in all the motos and we’ll be hoping this kind of form continues next weekend, when we head to Arnhem, which is a track he actually won a moto at in his EMX250 career.
