Vittorioso Gajser al GP della Repubblica Ceca dopo un’impressionante vittoria nella seconda manche

Tim Gajser del Team HRC ha finalmente ottenuto la vittoria assoluta sul circuito di Loket nella Repubblica Ceca dopo anni di tentativi, ottenendo risultati tre e uno scatenando scene selvagge di giubilo tra i tanti fan sloveni che hanno viaggiato verso nord per sostenere il loro eroe.
Dopo aver vinto la gara di qualificazione di ieri, Gajser non è mai sembrato a suo agio nella prima manche, arrivando infine al terzo posto, ma senza mai sfidare veramente i due piloti davanti. Sapendo che aveva bisogno di migliorare per avere qualche possibilità di vincere, il team ha lavorato insieme per far funzionare perfettamente la sua Honda CRF450R per gara due, facendolo sembrare immediatamente più a suo agio fin dal cancelletto.
Dopo aver svoltato la seconda curva al secondo posto, ha inseguito il leader per la prima metà della gara, tenendo d’occhio le sue traiettorie prima di compiere una mossa energica per prendere il comando. Con la seconda metà della gara ancora da affrontare, Gajser ha abbassato la testa e ha creato un netto vantaggio, conquistando la tanto attesa e meritata prima vittoria assoluta su un circuito che non è sempre stato gentile con lui.
È importante sottolineare che, dopo le tre gare del fine settimana, lo sloveno ha anche aumentato il suo vantaggio in campionato portandolo a 36 punti sul suo rivale più vicino, con sette round ancora da disputare. Il prossimo appuntamento sarà sulle insidiose sabbie di Lommel, in Belgio, conosciute come una delle piste più difficili del pianeta e che questo fine settimana offriranno una sfida completamente diversa rispetto al terreno collinare e duro di Loket.

Ferruccio Zanchi ha dovuto sorpassare molti piloti nel corso di questo difficile fine settimana nella Repubblica Ceca, ottenendo un risultato di 14-12 per il 12° posto assoluto, che non rifletteva del tutto la velocità mostrata in pista. In gara uno, stava cercando di portarsi al nono posto, quando una collisione con il pilota davanti lo ha fatto retrocedere, prima di riorganizzarsi per finire 14°. Poi, in gara due, una brutta partenza lo ha costretto a uscire dalla top 20 per risalire verso le prime posizioni, facendo molti movimenti per tornare a casa al 12° posto.
Ci sono ancora cose su cui lavorare, ma la determinazione non è una di queste e avrà bisogno di ogni goccia di quella grinta quando affronterà la sfida delle profonde sabbie di Lommel tra una settimana.

È fantastico ottenere finalmente una vittoria qui a Loket. Ho avuto dei bei momenti qui, ma non sono mai riuscito a vincere, quindi è semplicemente una bella sensazione. Non ho avuto la migliore prima manche, ma abbiamo lavorato insieme come squadra per migliorare le cose per Gara due e mi sono sentito subito molto meglio. Ho fatto una buona partenza, ho messo pressione sul leader e poi ho fatto una mossa a metà gara e ho controllato il resto della gara. Un grande ringraziamento a tutta la squadra e a tutti i tifosi sloveni che creano un’atmosfera fantastica e che mi supportano su tutto il circuito. Sono felice di aver finalmente potuto ripagarli qui a Loket.

Ero soddisfatto della maggior parte della mia guida, ma alcuni momenti mi sono costati ancora una volta. Ho fatto molti sorpassi durante il fine settimana e questo è qualcosa di cui essere felice, ma volevo anche essere migliore nei primi giri in modo da non dover fare così tante manovre. Tuttavia, sono in buona salute e imparo continuamente e anche se non ottengo i risultati finali che desidero, penso ancora che sto progredendo e muovendomi nella giusta direzione.

Dopo Gara uno abbiamo capito che le cose dovevano cambiare e penso che è una testimonianza dello spirito di squadra con cui abbiamo lavorato insieme per dare a Tim una chance per la classifica generale. Naturalmente, doveva ancora uscire e guidare e ha fatto una prestazione immensa per vincere la seconda manche e conquistare il GP assoluto. È sempre stato un periodo difficile per lui, con la pressione extra di tutti i tifosi sloveni, ma è stato all’altezza della situazione e ha guidato in modo fenomenale e non potremmo essere più felici per lui e per la posizione in campionato.
Ferro ha avuto un fine settimana difficile, ma non possiamo criticare la sua dedizione e lotta costantemente fino alla fine. Era ben fuori dai primi 20 in gara due ed è arrivato fino al 12° posto, quindi dobbiamo concentrarci sugli aspetti positivi e portarli a Lommel, che sarà un’altra sfida difficile.

Victorious Gajser takes Czech GP overall after impressive second moto win

Team HRC’s Tim Gajser finally got the overall win at the Loket circuit in the Czech Republic after years of trying, putting in three-one results to spark wild scenes of jubilation amongst the many Slovenian fans who travelled north to support their hero.
After winning the qualification race yesterday, Gajser never looked comfortable in the first moto, eventually coming home in third place, but never really challenging the two riders in front. Knowing that he needed to improve to stand any chance of the elusive victory, the team worked together to get his Honda CRF450R working flawlessly for race two, with him immediately looking more comfortable from the gate-drop.
Rounding the second corner in second place, he stalked the leader for the first half of the race, keeping an eye on his lines before making a forceful move to take over the lead. With the second half of the race still to negotiate, Gajser put his head down and pulled out a clear gap, cruising to a long-awaited and much-deserved maiden overall win at a circuit that hasn’t always been kind to him.
Importantly, after the three races over the weekend, the Slovenian also increased his championship lead to 36 points over his nearest rival, with seven rounds still remaining. Next up, is the treacherous sands of Lommel, Belgium which is known as one of the toughest tracks on the planet and will provide a completely different challenge than the hard-pack hilly terrain of Loket this weekend.

Ferruccio Zanchi had to pass a lot of riders over the course of this tough weekend in the Czech Republic, posting results of 14-12 for 12th overall, which wasn’t a completely fair reflection of the speed he showed on track. In race one, he was looking to move into ninth place, when a collision with the rider in front caused him to drop down the field, before he eventually regrouped to finish 14th. Then in race two, a bad start meant that he had to come from outside the top 20 to work his way up towards the front of the field, making a lot of moves to come home in 12th place.
There are still things to work on, but determination isn’t one of them and he’ll need every drop of that grit when he takes on the challenge of the deep sand of Lommel in one week’s time.

It’s amazing to finally get a win here in Loket. I’ve had some good moments here, but never been able to take the victory so this is just a great feeling. I didn’t have the best first moto, but we worked together as a team to improve things for race two and I immediately felt a lot better. I got a good start, put pressure on the leader and then made a move midway through and controlled the rest of the race. A big thank you to all the team, and to all the fans Slovenian fans who create such an awesome atmosphere and who support me around the whole track. I’m glad I could finally repay them here in Loket.

I was happy with the majority of my riding, but a few moments cost me once again. I made a lot of passes over the weekend and that is something to be happy about, but I also wanted to be better in the first few laps so that I don’t have to make so many moves. Still, I am healthy and learning all the time and although I’m not getting the end results I want, I still think I am progressing and moving in the right direction.

After race one, we could see that things needed to change and I think that it is testament to the team spirit that we worked together to give Tim a shot at the overall. Of course, he still had to go out and ride and he put in an immense performance to take that second moto win and take the GP overall. It’s always been a tough place for him, with the extra pressure of all the Slovenian fans, but he rose to the occasion and just rode phenomenally and we couldn’t be happier for him and for the championship position.
Ferro had a tough weekend, but we can’t fault his dedication and he is constantly fighting until the very end. He was well outside the top 20 in race two and came all the way through to 12th so we need to focus on the positives and take that into Lommel which will be another tough challenge.
