A Glenn Coldenhoff – A caccia di un affare
Il veterano olandese Glenn Coldenhoff è un po’ in movimento al momento con risultati molto costanti e risultati sul podio. Il pilota Monster Energy Yamaha sembra più che probabile che stia cercando una nuova squadra per il 2024 e questi risultati lo aiuterebbero a ottenere il contratto che merita il prossimo anno.
Lo scorso fine settimana in Finlandia, il 32enne ha segnato il terzo posto assoluto per eguagliare il suo terzo assoluto da Lommel la settimana precedente e negli ultimi sette round è andato 3-3-5-3-4-2-4. The Hoff è stato più che soddisfatto della sua prestazione lo scorso fine settimana.
“Un altro podio”, ha detto Coldenhoff. “Dovresti essere sempre felice di questo. Ma, a questo punto, voglio solo vincere. Questo è ciò per cui stiamo lavorando. Non siamo troppo lontani, quindi abbiamo programmato alcuni test la prossima settimana e continueremo a lavorare per raggiungerli. Non sono rimasti molti round ora, quindi spero di essere presto al top. Spero di poterlo realizzare già in Svezia “
Per quanto riguarda il contratto per il 2024, su quel fronte non c’è pace e il pilota Yamaha spera che le sue solide prestazioni nel corso della sua carriera portino a qualcosa che secondo lui lo aiuterà a rimanere un serio contendente per vittorie e podi in GP.
“Per il momento non c’è niente di chiaro lì. Non sono in grado di dire nulla, alcune squadre sono interessate, ma non ho sentito nulla di ufficiale dalla Yamaha, ma si parla di cambiamenti e non ho ancora parlato con nessuno. Questo è il momento in cui inizia, ma molti, molti piloti e forse anche squadre sono in scadenza di contratto, e penso che succederanno molte cose in questo periodo. Sono ancora in grado di ottenere podi e penso ancora di poter vincere, e ho ancora molto in me e voglio dimostrarlo anche io.”
Dopo aver vinto sei Gran Premi nella sua carriera, cinque in MXGP e uno in MX2, l’obiettivo rimane lo stesso di quando ha iniziato a diventare uno dei primi cinque uomini al mondo. Anche se non ha ancora vinto un GP in questa stagione, sente che arriverà presto.
“Sì, sono ancora un po’ fuori da quello, ma questo è un obiettivo, anche quello di ottenere la mia prima vittoria dell’anno, questo è un altro obiettivo e poi sicuramente inizierà a muoversi anche in campionato”.
Ora in Svezia e su una pista su cui è salito sul podio nel 2022, ha vinto nel 2019 e ha sempre mostrato una buona forma, quindi forse, il prossimo fine settimana, l’MXGP della Svezia gli porterà quella vittoria tanto attesa, solo per creare un po’ di slancio per un altro giro ufficiale in 2024.
Nota di redazione: Al momento le voci che girano su Glenn sono che Yamaha Factory non lo confermerà, si dice che rimanga in orbita Yamaha con Wilvo dove ha un “legame” particolare e in blu rimane Maxime Renaux e in arrivo Jago Geerts ma è da vedere se vince il mondiale causa ennesimo infortunio, Yama ha fatto anche un offerta a Febvre e che Kemea vuole fare Team in 450………insomma, vedremo, vedremo, vedremo! Come dice Glenn staremo a vedere perchè è tutto in movimento e non c’è un gran bel clima….. 🙂

A Glenn Coldenhoff – Chasing A Deal
Dutch veteran Glenn Coldenhoff is on a bit of a roll at the moment with very consistent results and podium results. The Monster Energy Yamaha rider seems more than likely to be looking for a new team for 2024 and these results would be helping him get the contract he deserves next year.
Last weekend in Finland, the 32-year-old scored third overall to match his third overall from Lommel the previous week and in the last seven rounds, he has gone 3-3-5-3-4-2-4. The Hoff was more than happy with his performance last weekend.
“Another podium,” Coldenhoff said. “You should always be happy with that. But, at this point, I just want to win. That’s what we are working for. We’re not too far off, so we have planned some testing next week, and we will keep working towards it. There are not too many rounds left now, so I hope to be on top soon. Hopefully, I can make it happen in Sweden already”
As for a contract for 2024, it is quiet on that front and the Yamaha rider hopes his solid performances throughout his career will lead to something he feels will help him remain a serious contender for GP wins and podiums.
“For the moment there is nothing clear there. I am not able to say anything, some teams are interested, but I have heard nothing official from Yamaha, but there is talk of changes and I haven’t spoken to anyone yet. This is the time it starts, but many, many riders and also maybe teams are out of contract, and I think a lot will happen in this time. I am still able to get podiums and I still think I can win, and I have a lot left in me and I want to show that as well.”
Having six Grand Prix victories in his career, five in MXGP and one in MX2, the goal remains the same as when he first started becoming one of the top five men in the world. While he hasn’t won a GP this season yet, he feels it is coming soon.
“Yes, I am still a bit off that, but that is a goal, also to get my first win of the year, that is another goal and then for sure it starts moving in the championship as well.”
Now onto Sweden and a track he has podiumed at in 2022, won at in 2019 and always shown good form, so maybe, next weekend, the MXGP of Sweden brings him that much awaited victory, just to build some momentum for another factory ride in 2024.
